Ven. Master Xuecheng: Buddhism across Northeastern Asia shares the same lineage and its Dharma milk will nourish people thousand years

The China-Japan-South Korea Buddhist Exchange Conference, served as an key platform, has promoted institutionalization of the communications and cooperation between the three countries, strengthened their “Golden Bond,” and acted importantly on the friendship advancement and peace maintenance in East Asia and, further, the world.

Ven. Master Xuecheng, President of the Buddhist Association of China, and his delegation arrived in Ningbo, a city known for the “southeastern Buddhist land,” on Oct. 11, to attend the 19th China-Japan-South Korea Buddhist Exchange Conference. Served as an key platform, the conference has promoted institutionalization of the communications and cooperation between the three countries, strengthened their “Golden Bond,” and acted importantly on the friendship advancement and peace maintenance in East Asia and, further, the world.

In front of the Maitreya Buddha statue at Xuedou Temple in Fenghua city, the Buddhist delegates of the three countries held a Dharma assembly to pray for world peace and chanted sutras for blessings respectively. As said in the speech of Ven. Master Xuecheng: Buddhism across China, South Korea and Japan share the same Dharma root and the Dharma friendship between the three countries are deep and long-cherished. Reviewing history, we need to remember our original intention, learn from the past and move forward. Envisioning the future, we have to be more far-sighted, broad-minded, make our faith more solid and keep forging ahead. He proposed that the cooperation and team work between Buddhism across the three countries be further enhanced in each and every field, the exchange between their Buddhist youth should increase. Besides, we should strive to exert the positive role of Buddhist exchange between the three countries into full play and co-create the future for a better exchange. Ven. Master Xuecheng also expressed his best wishes to the delegations from Japan and South Korea: “I hope everyone here can feel the long history and new face of Chinese Buddhism, the as deep as ever affection of Chinese Buddhist community towards Dharma brothers from South Korea and Japan, and the vitality and promising future of China.
