It’s precisely because of the imperfections in the secular world that we need to practice kindness diligently.

Q: Morning, Master! I often feel that the secular world is polluted and I am not. And my acts of kindness are like pebbles dropped in the ocean and make no difference at all. This makes me resentful, and disappointed. I want to give up and run away. How do I regain peace of mind and handle the relationship between myself and others?

A: It’s precisely because of the imperfections in the secular world that we need to practice kindness diligently.

Q: Master, does the one who apologizes first in a conflict care about and treasure the relationship more than the other?

A: The one who tolerates and forgives finds happiness easier than the other.

Q: Venerable Master, how do we turn unfavorable conditions into good ones?

A: Endure suffering to end suffering, and pay back what’s owed. Maintain inner peace and repay resentment with virtuousness.

Q: Amitabha! Master, how do I strengthen my faith without being affected by others’ negative emotions? Thanks a lot!

A: Look far ahead.

Q: Master, how do I keep interpersonal relationships while listening to my inner voices? Please help!

A: When dealing with others, the most important thing is to let go of self and to understand others.

Q: Master, I care too much about others’ opinions of me, so I often find my “self” lost and feel deeply troubled.

A: Where there is "self", there is suffering.
