Longquan Monastery Reception Department provides service to the public. It has six function units: Dharma Assembly Division, Offering Affairs Division, Circulation Division, Relative-caring Division, Administration Division, and Human Resources Division.

Longquan Monastery Reception Department provides service to the public. It has six function units: Dharma Assembly Division, Offering Affairs Division, Circulation Division, Relative-caring Division, Administration Division, and Human Resources Division.

Dharma Assembly Division

Responsible for planning, organizing and executing Buddhism activities at Longquan Monastery, Dharma Assembly Division plays a central role to disseminate Buddhism education among lay Buddhists. Dharma Assembly is unique to Buddhism, with the aim togather people who share the same spiritual pursuit so they could help each other to grow. It is a channel for the monastery to connect with society and to attract prospective Buddhists, and also a platform for monks and lay Buddhists to practice Dharma teaching.

Longquan Monastery Dharma Assembly started in 2005, and they are held every year during traditional festivals and the birthdays of Buddha and Bodhisattva. The contents of Dharma Assemblies vary, including chanting sutras, mountain pilgrimage, morning and evening chanting, refuge transmission, precepts reception, prayer for auspiciousness,ghosts delivering Dharma services, Zen meditations, lectures by Dharma teachers, deepheart discussions, lucky noodles and Wan Yuan tea shed. The shared goal of all forms of Dharma Assembly is for Buddhism to widely connect with people, and to meet the spiritual needs of Buddhism by society.

Offering Affairs Division

Provides consulting, registration and other related services for all forms of Buddhism activities in the monastery. During Dharma Assemblies, Offering Affairs Division works closely with the Dharma Assembly group to provide service.

Circulation Division

Responsible for the circulation of Dharma jewel and articles of Dharma, includingSutras, Buddha statues, scents, prayer beads, Haiqing, etc.

Relative-caring Division

Tailor to the needs of Dharma teachers’ friends and family.

Administration Division

Responsible for the logistics, including accommodation, sanitation, safety, medical service and management. It has housing group, food service group, safety group, clinical group and good deed group.

Housing group is responsible for the housing service, management and sanitation of long-term volunteers.

Food service group is responsible for the overall operation of food service in monastery.

Safety group oversees safety issues in the monastery, including water, electricity, fire safety, and human security.

Clinical service group provides simple and quick clinical service and medicines.

Good Deed group helps society members to understand the monastery. It helps people to adapt to the lives in monastery.

Human Resources Division

Mainly responsible for the training and cultivation of volunteer leaders, documentation and management of volunteers’ working hours, housing registration and management of volunteers. It has training group, deportment group and hospice group.

The human resources training group is mainly responsible the training of long-term volunteers and cultivation of volunteer leaders. It has the following activities: life education courses, reading club, leader cultivation salon, life experience courses, and training sessions for new volunteers. It also cultivates new lecturers through the blog learning platform after everyday’s morning study.

The deportment group is mainly responsible for the documentation of volunteers’ morning and evening sessions, lunch time bowing repentance, reasons for failure to practice those sessions, and analysis for the above data. Such data is then used to guide the learning and practice of Buddhists volunteers. Daily data is reported.
