A delegation of three led by Abbot Nishiyama Akihiko, the Elder of the Ristu sect of Japanese Buddhism, visited the Buddhist Association of China (BAC) yesterday. Ven. Master Xuecheng, President of the BAC, warmly welcomed the Japanese visitors and together both parties looked back on the history of Sino-Japanese Buddhist exchanges. Ven. Master Xuecheng and Abbot Nishiyama Akihiko both expressed their willingness to pass on and develop the deep-rooted traditions of friendship established by Chinese and Japanese Buddhist masters and advocated sustained friendship between the two countries for the generations to come.
